Love with Cricket in South Asia

Cricket is among the greatest legacies the British left to India, from where it spread to the whole South Asian Subcontinent. Since, then Cricket became very popular sports in the region. For the people of subcontinent, especially India and Pakistan, cricket is a lot more than a sports. Even the Prime Minister's office can be shut down if there is match between the two neighboring rival countries, India and Pakistan.

South Asian countries won ICC Cricket World Cup four times. India won twice. First India won in 1983 beating West Indies, later won Cricket World Cup in 2011. Pakistan and Srilanka won in 1992 and 1996 respectively.

Traditionally, India and Pakistan has a similar game called " Gilli-Danda". But the overwhelming popularity of the cricket has overshadowed all other traditional games in India and Pakistan..
